Transfer of district heating contract

When you move, the district heating contract is always transferred in writing. The district heating contract is not automatically transferred upon property handover.

If you want to transfer the heating contract to the new owner, you must prepare a separate handover document for the transfer or mention it in the deed of sale.

The submitted document can be a separate handover document, copy of the deed of sale, copy of the division certificate or a copy of the deed of estate inventory to the extent where it is mentioned that the property is transferred to the new owner.

In case of a housing or property company, i.e., when stocks are sold, the name of the district heating subscription will remain unchanged. The billing address is changed to the new owner, and a final bill is prepared for the previous owner.

What information should the deed of sale have?

The deed of sale should mention the following. With this deed of sale, the sellers transfer their rights to the buyer without separate remuneration. The rights are based on the district heating connection contract signed with Fortum Power and Heat Oy. The sellers assure that all payments based on the connection contract have been paid for during the seller's period of possession. The sellers are committed to notify the transfer of the connection contract to Fortum Power and Heat Oy.
