Ethical guidelines for purchasing
All Fortum employees must follow our ethical guidelines for purchasing. These guidelines demand that, for example:
We know our ethical rules and are committed to following them.
We obey the laws, statutes and regulations; follow general good practices; and respect the principles of honesty, equality and non-discrimination. We treat the other party with respect and as an equal.
We execute purchases in an open competition, in a way that is economical and fit for the purpose
- We do not co-operate with competitors in purchasing issues.
Gifts and favours from suppliers
Fortum’s representatives or their family members are prohibited from accepting any favours such as money, valuable gifts or free trips, from Fortum’s present or potential suppliers.
Meetings and visits
When Fortum’s representatives meet present or potential suppliers who wish to offer something, a normal lunch or dinner is acceptable, but all excess should be avoided. Also when participating in seminars or events organized by present of potential suppliers, Fortum representatives must first critically consider if the seminar or event really contributes to Fortum's business.
