Fortum's Loviisa nuclear power plant's unit 1 was re-connected to the grid today, 21 February 2011, at 10 (EET). The unit was brought to a controlled shutdown on Saturday due to minor steam leakage in the unit's secondary circuit. The incident posed no threat to people or the environment. After completion of the repair and inspection works on Sunday, Fortum began the unit's startup process. Loviisa 1 is expected to reach full production during today.
