The statutory employer-employee negotiations about the effects of the merger of Fortum and Fortum Espoo on the personnel were started in October 2006. At that time they concerned a maximum of 60 jobs. The negotiations were finished in December. The redeployment of employees had reduced the number of persons under threat of notice to 19.
Extra time was given until the end of May 2007 for redeployment of the 19 employees under threat of notice. 11 of them were given notice in the end of May and no more than five other employees will be given notice over a period of about eight months unless replacement employment is found.
Fortum offers supportive measures to promote redeployment and reduce the consequences of employment termination.
