Fortum Origination signs long term Balance and Trading agreement with BlaikenVind

Fortum Origination signs a new long term Balance and Trading agreement with wind power park BlaikenVind AB.

The signed agreement is valid for 2015-2017 with optional years 2018-2020. Fortum Origination offers optimization and trading services to customers like energy intensive industries and wind park owners. The cooperation further strengthens Fortum’s presence in Trading on the Nord Pool Spot Market and BlaikenVind a solution in accordance with their demands.

Fortum has specialized physical power trading with more than 60 dedicated power traders on the trading desks located in Finland and Sweden making the company a leading market actor on Nord Pool that is able to offer balance and trading service as well as a wide range of other trading-related products such as risk mitigation tools when hedging of power.

BlaikenVind AB is one of Europe's largest wind power parks located in the northern part of Sweden. The completed wind power park will contain 90 wind turbines with an installed effect of  225MW.  Fortum and Skellefteå Kraft operates under the joint company name of BlaikenVind AB.
