FORTUM SELLS GAS CARRIER TO NORWAY

Fortum Sverige AB has sold the gas carrier Baltic Flame to the Norwegian shipping company Westfal-Larsen & CO. AS.

Baltic Flame is a 54,955 dw-tonne gas carrier that Fortum bought in 1994. Baltic Flame has operated as a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carrier mainly between the Middle East, Japan and China. The carrier can load 75,000 m3 of LPG. It is among the largest LPG carriers in the world.

At the moment, Baltic Flame is chartered in external business until the end of the year. The chartering agreement will now be transferred to the carrier’s buyer. The carrier has been handed over to the new owner in Dubai on 14 February 2001. The vessel will sail under the Norwegian flag with the new name Nordanger.
