Successful issue of Fortum's EUR 1.0 billion benchmark Eurobond

Fortum Oyj today priced a debut EUR 1.0 billion Eurobond under the Fortum Oyj EMTN programme.  The offering comprises of two tranches. The first tranche amounts to EUR 500 million, has a maturity of 7 years, and priced at 53 basis points over mid-swaps and carries a coupon of 4,625%. The second tranche, with a maturity of 10 years, amounts to EUR 500 million, and priced at 65 basis points over mid-swaps and carries a coupon of 5.0%. 


The positive reaction following a pan-European roadshow among the investment community resulted in an orderbook of approximately EUR 1.8 billion.


Application has been made to list the bonds on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange.


The proceeds of the offering will be used for refinancing purposes.


Citigroup and Morgan Stanley acted as joint bookrunners for the transaction.  Barclays and Nordea acted as joint lead managers. ABN AMRO, BNP PARIBAS, Deutsche Bank and SEB Merchant Banking acted as co-managers.
