Fortum operates mainly in the Nordics, but in addition the company has operations in Estonia, Germany, United Kingdom, India, Ireland and Netherlands.

Financial Services’ back office in Estonia providing accounting, reporting, payroll and tax services to our operations.

In Germany we are focusing on battery recycling and have a battery recycling hub in Kirchardt which can treat over 3,000 metric tons of batteries per year.

Our operations in the United Kingdom are focused on operation and maintenance services for industry and energy companies and we have a Waste-to-Energy centre under construction in Glasgow, Scotland.

Fortum’s businesses in India include mainly solar power generation with partners and EV charging services. 

Our companies in Ireland create shareholder value by owning and financing some key Fortum operations,  supporting their profitability and carrying the risks related to the financing, shareholdings and operations. 

Fortum companies in the Netherlands create shareholder value by owning Fortum operations worldwide, supporting their profitability, carrying the risk, and enjoying the profits related to these shareholdings and their operations.​​ Next to holding companies, the Dutch branch of Fortum Finance Ireland DAC provides financing activities, including the effective management of intra-group financing dedicated to operational group companies.
