Fortum is the first in Finland to open its district heating network to all clean energy producers. By utilising waste heat we can together make the Finnish energy system more sustainable, more efficient and cleaner.
In December 2017 the 100-MW Pavagada solar plant was connected to the grid in India. Thousands of migrant workers from diverse backgrounds around the country, with different religions, cultures, ethnicities, language, food habits and social rituals were involved in the construction phase.
In February 2018 the Finnish cargo ship Adele glides to the deep-water harbour in Inkoo, in southern Finland. In the past the ships brought coal from different parts of the world to fuel the big coal-fired power plant in Inkoo. Now, for the first time in its history, Fortum is sending scrap metal by ship to export markets in Europe.
