Unit 2 of Fortum's Loviisa nuclear power plant back in production after control rod repair

Fortum's Loviisa Nuclear Power Plant's Unit 2 is back in normal energy production after a repair shutdown of almost five days.

Unit 2 was taken down because of a malfunctioning control rod on Tuesday 15 October. During the shutdown, devices were changed for two control rods and all rods were tested. The extra shutdown also enabled some minor inspections, repairs and maintenance to be carried out.

Loviisa 2 was reconnected to grid on Sunday 20 October at 3:46 p.m. and it has reached full capacity by now.
