Description of the project

Ecotuning® project’s target was to improve plant efficiency and reduce fuel consumption by 1% (170 k€). Any proposed investment payback time should be less than two years. Project was carried out in a close co-operation with site personnel. This ensured high engagement of the staff.

During the project different kinds of audits were conducted supplemented with accurate thermal performance measurements. Power plant was modelled and each savings impact analysed by using Fortum’s own power plant simulator (Solvo®). As an output of Ecotuning® project, customer got trained personnel with a greater awareness of the energy-efficiency issues, list of improvement proposals with specified benefits, payback periods and action plan supporting each improvement implementation.
