Fortum eNext implements combustion modification to significantly cut NOx emissions at a coal-fired power plant in India
Fortum eNext successfully completed its first commercial combustion modification project in India. The NOx emissions of a coal-fired boiler are for the first time cut down by almost 60% reaching levels well below 300 mg/Nm3 fulfilling also India's set target of 450 mg/Nm3.

Remote monitoring service for turbines and generators to enable data-driven plant management
Early signs of operational disturbances in turbines and generators often go unnoticed. Automated remote monitoring, with a real-time data stream, makes it possible to identify and react to abnormal behaviour without delay. Fortum eNext has developed a remote monitoring service to allow energy producers to avoid unplanned outages, optimise outage intervals and have better control over maintenance costs.

Fortum eNext to refurbish a 46-year-old generator in Sweden
E.ON has chosen Fortum eNext to refurbish the old generator in Åbyverket CHP plant unit G3 in Örebro, Sweden. The generator will be serviced in Fortum’s own fully equipped workshop to repair and rewind both rotors and stators. After the refurbishment, the generator will be as good as new and will be able to endure another 20 years of operation.

Fortum eNext was selected to participate in the design and manufacturing of the post-combustion system for Vapo Oy’s first activated carbon facility in Finland. Fortum eNext was able to demonstrate the most advantageous solution to reduce NOx emissions produced in the combustion process.

Fortum eNext has been selected to carry out a boiler refurbishment project at Tisovà, power plant in Western Bohemia in the Czech Republic. The main target is to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions from the lignite fired boiler to make it meet tightening European emission norms.

Fortum eNext performing first turbine and generator overhaul in Czech Republic
For the first time, Fortum eNext is doing a full revision of a steam turbine and generator for a customer located in the Czech Republic. The equipment is being overhauled at Fortum’s own workshops in Finland and Sweden and then sent back to the Czech Republic under tight time pressure.

Complex enough for Fortum eNext
In April, Fortum eNext took on a taxing task from Göteborg Energi in Sweden. The project has two major dimensions: supplying the plant with nitrogen oxide reduction equipment, and designing and installing a new automation system and switchgear, all on a tight schedule in order to complete the work before winter. The project is now running in full swing.
