River system Ljusnan
In Ljusnan's catchment area Fortum has 23 wholly owned or part-owned hydropower plants. The river is 430 km long and the area of its catchment area is 19,830 km². Lossen is a big lake and a storage reservoir. Lossen and Grundsjön are the big annual storage reservoirs for Ljusnan.
Svegsjön came into being in 1975 through damming. With its area of 60 km² it is Härjedalen's biggest lake and one of the biggest artificial lakes in Europe, and it acts as a reservoir for Sveg power plant. Krokströmmen power plant is the biggest on Ljusnan in terms of energy, whilst together the two power plants in Långå have the biggest output. The catchment area also includes the following smaller power plants: Edeforsen, Viksjöfors and Lenninge.
