Heating solutions to suit your needs
Finland's most popular heating method is always up to date
Our district heating has reliably heated homes, public spaces, and workplaces in the Espoo area for over 70 years. We always utilise the latest innovations as heat sources, such as purified wastewater and waste heat from data centers. Our energy-recycling-based, electrifying heat production ensures competitive and increasingly low-emission district heating for you.
Innovative technology
District heating is true smart heat. We optimise heat production 24/7 by combining different heat sources in real-time to match customer needs, ensuring delivery reliability and cost-efficiency.
Competitive choice
District heating is a very competitive investment compared to other heating systems, and its price outlook is stable for the future.
Recycled energy
We strongly believe in utilising waste heat, and we produce an increasingly large part of our customers' district heating and hot water by recycling energy.

District heating prices remain unchanged – no changes for 1000 days
Fortum's district heating prices will remain unchanged during this heating season. Boxing Day 2025 will mark 1000 days since district heating prices were last changed. The previous price change took place in spring 2023 in connection with a product reform, when prices dropped for around 80% of customers. Price stability in the district heating networks of Espoo, Kirkkonummi and Kauniainen is based on the transition to electricity-based, decentralized, and flexible production that began in 2014.

Espoo Clean Heat turns district heating carbon neutral
The goal of the Espoo Clean Heat programme is to produce all district heating carbon-neutrally in the Espoo, Kauniainen, and Kirkkonummi areas during the 2020s.
