Fortum Vahti informs about district heating interruptions conveniently via text message

The free Fortum Vahti text message service notifies you if district heating or hot water is unavailable. You will receive information about heating interruptions to your property via SMS, both during planned maintenance and unexpected disruptions. All Fortum district heating users can utilise the service.

District heating is a reliable and worry-free choice for your property – its delivery reliability is 99.97 %. However, there may occasionally be temporary disturbances or planned interruptions in the district heating supply as we repair the network or connect new customers. These interruptions are usually short-term.

Questions and answers about Fortum Vahti service

District heating customers automatically enrolled in the service: 
Notifications of interruptions in heat and hot water supply are automatically sent via text message to all district heating customers over the age of 18 in our network area (Espoo, Kauniainen, and Kirkkonummi) whose phone number and address information is public, and connected to the affected property.

Text messages are not automatically sent to district heating users whose phone number is unlisted, registered under an employer’s name, on a prepaid plan, or who have instructed their carrier not to disclose their number information. In such cases, the service can be subscribed to by registering as a user via the link above.

Single-family home customers: 
Single-family home customers will be automatically enrolled in the new service using the phone number associated with their district heating account. If you wish to subscribe to the service for other residents, you can do so via the link above.

Property Managers: 
Property managers of housing companies will be automatically enrolled in the new service for those of their housing company clients who, according to our customer registry, are connected to Fortum’s district heating network. You can manage the housing companies included in the service using the form above.

When you add a new housing company customer in the Heat Online service, you will automatically receive text messages regarding service interruptions for that housing company.

Subscribers to the old Fortum Lämpövahti service: 
The Fortum Vahti service replaces the previous Fortum Lämpövahti service. If you have subscribed to the Fortum Lämpövahti service using your phone number, you will be automatically transferred to the new Fortum Vahti service.

The service will notify you if district heating and hot water are unavailable, whether due to scheduled maintenance or unexpected outages.

The service is completely free of charge.

We always strive to notify customers of outages as quickly as possible, but in the event of sudden service interruptions, the notification may not always be sent before the heating or hot water supply is cut off.

Text messages are not automatically sent to district heating users whose phone number is unlisted, registered under an employer’s name, or on a prepaid plan. In such cases, you can subscribe to the service by registering as a user via the link above.

By logging in to the form, you can check which addresses are already registered to your phone number for the service, as well as update the addresses associated with the service.

If you are a single-family home customer, the service is linked to the phone number associated with the property’s district heating contract.

If you are a property manager, you can check which addresses under your management are included in the service via the link above.
