Fortum operates mainly in the Nordics, but in addition the company has operations in Poland, Germany, United Kingdom, India, Ireland and Netherlands.
In Germany we are focusing on battery recycling and have a battery recycling hub in Kirchardt which can treat over 3,000 metric tons of batteries per year.
In the United Kingdom we have a Waste-to-Energy centre under construction in Glasgow, Scotland.
Fortum’s businesses in India include mainly EV charging services.
Our companies in Ireland create shareholder value by owning and financing some key Fortum operations, supporting their profitability and carrying the risks related to the financing, shareholdings and operations.
Fortum companies in the Netherlands create shareholder value by owning Fortum operations worldwide, supporting their profitability, carrying the risk, and enjoying the profits related to these shareholdings and their operations. Next to holding companies, the Dutch branch of Fortum Finance Ireland DAC provides financing activities, including the effective management of intra-group financing dedicated to operational group companies.
