We use cookies and other similar technologies to enable website and mobile application functionalities, to personalize services, content, and ads, to learn more about the usage of our websites and applications, and to provide social media features.

We use cookies and other similar technologies which collect and store information as you browse our websites or use our mobile applications. Cookies are small text files stored on the user’s device. Other similar technologies include for example JavaScript, mobile identifiers, web beacons and tracking pixels. For the ease of reading, we use the term ‘cookies’ in this policy to refer to all these technologies.

Cookies on our websites can be placed by us and our service providers or by third parties, such as advertising networks, providers of analytics and monitoring services, and social media services. In addition to cookies, we may use cookieless tracking technologies that enable us to create statistics about the usage of our services, for example by collecting functional information of the browser.

You can control mobile application data collection from the application settings, and you will find more information there.

Types of cookies

In general, the following types of cookies are used on our websites:

Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are necessary for the website or mobile app to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services, such as saving your cookie settings, logging in or filling in forms. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but some parts of the website will then not work. These cookies do not store any personally identifiable information.

Functional cookies

These cookies enable the website or mobile app to provide enhanced functionality and personalization. They may be set by us or by third-party providers. If you do not accept these cookies, then some or all of these services may not function properly.

Performance cookies

These cookies include analytics tools and allow us to count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of our websites. They help us to know which pages are the most and least popular and see how users move around the websites. They may be set by us or by third-party providers. If these cookies are not accepted, we will not know when a user has visited our websites and will not be able to monitor its performance.

Targeting cookies

These cookies may be set by us or by third-party service providers, including social media services. These service providers may use them to create a profile of your interests and to show you targeted advertising in other services and websites. If you do not accept these cookies, you will still be shown advertising, but the content will be less tailored for you.

How we use the data collected by cookies and similar technologies

Cookies and similar technologies enable us to count the unique users on our websites and read certain data about the user, including identifiers and details about the user’s device, browser, and operating system. We are also able to determine when the user has viewed certain content or opened a certain email or links.

This information can be combined into a user’s profile subject to our privacy notice. For example, if you are a registered user of our mobile application, we can match the data observed from your use of the service to the personal information you have provided to us and use this data for targeted marketing and product and service development.

We utilize tools such as Google Analytics, Google Firebase and Google Signals to monitor the use of our services. Google Signals collects additional information about you if you are a logged in Google user and you accept the targeting cookies. You can read more about Google’s privacy.

Our services may also include social media plugins, such as the Meta or X “Like” and “Share” buttons. Although such social media plugin buttons may be visible on our services, the related content comes directly from the service provider in question. Social media plugins on our service recognize if you have logged into the service in question and can then display customized content for you in the social media plugins or the websites. These services collect information about your visit in accordance with their valid privacy policies. The plugins enable you to, for example, share articles in the service by pressing a button. They can track your browser across other websites and creating a profile of your interests.

In addition to using cookies on our websites, we also use cookies on third-party websites to provide targeted advertising to users. These third-party websites will inform you about cookies in their privacy policies, and you can manage the cookie use on their websites.

Who accesses the data collected with cookies?

We and our service providers can access your data in accordance with this policy and our privacy notice. Providers of social media plugins can collect data about your visit in accordance with their privacy policies. You can find a list of the service providers in the “Cookie Settings” button above.

We use session cookies which expire once you leave the website. In addition, we also use persistent cookies, which remain on your device for a specified period or until you remove them. You can check the duration of the cookies in the “Cookie Settings” button above.
