How to get started with your career at Fortum

How do I find open jobs at Fortum?

Our open jobs are published in Fortum career portal. You can use the filters on the left side of the job search page to narrow down the results e.g. by location or position type.

Do I need to register to apply?

To get started with your first application with us, you need to register. Later by signing in, you are able to use your saved documents like CV and cover letter to apply for other jobs at Fortum. You are able to register by selecting “New User" in the Fortum Career portal.

What information and documents should be included in the application?

You will be asked to include a CV and/or cover letter. We are interested to hear about your latest work experience, your strengths, and how your skills might be applied to our specific position.

We encourage to send your documents in PDF format.

Can I submit an open application?

At the moment, we are not able to receive open applications. We encourage to screen through our open jobs and apply for the ones that look interesting.

Which language should I use in my application?

General guidance is, that you should use the same language as the job advertisement is written in.

Can I edit my application after submitting it?

Once you have submitted your application it can no longer be edited. If you wish to do any changes, you must withdraw your application first and submit a new one.

Can I send an email application?

To ensure equal treatment and legal compliance in our recruitment process, we do not accept CVs via e-mail.

Do you hire students or recent graduates?

Yes! We offer a variety of positions for students to work with us as trainees, thesis workers or interns. We also offer entry level positions once you are ready to graduate. All our open jobs can be found here: Fortum Careers.

How can I be sure that my application has been received?

After submitting your application, you will receive an automated email confirmation. You can also log in to your candidate profile and check which jobs you have applied for.

What happens after I have submitted my application?

Our recruiting managers review each job applicant and reach out to those who appear to be a potential match with the position to agree about next steps. If you don’t hear from us right away - don’t get worried - that might be because at times we are going through a lot of applications.

Unfortunately, we are unable to respond personally to every application that we receive. But we will inform you by email if we don't move forward with your application. 

How does Fortum process my personal data?

We delete or de-identify personal data that has been collected as part of the recruitment when it is no longer necessary for the purposes it was collected for. If Fortum hires you, your personal data may become part of your employee record.
