  1. Job Openings. You can find our job openings here here - External link. Please use the filters to narrow down listed search results to a specific country or job category. You can also search by keyword or location.
  2. Talent Community. You can leave an open application. If you haven’t created a candidate profile yet, you can submit your CV by clicking "Join Talent Community Join Talent Community - External link". Our recruiters will reach out if your profile matches an open opportunity.

Already have a profile? Just log in and head to “Search Options & Privacy.” Make sure your profile is visible to “any recruiter worldwide” and that you’ve selected “hear more about career opportunities.” That way, you’ll be part of our Talent Community.  Our recruiters regularly review Talent Community profiles and will invite you to apply if there’s a good match.

  1. Start your application by registering a candidate profile.
With your profile, you can track the progress of your applications, adjust your settings, view all the jobs you’ve applied for, and choose to make your profile visible to all recruiters at Fortum. Under “Options,” you can manage your job alerts, change your password, or delete your candidate profile.

If you apply for a job after creating your profile, your CV and other saved information will be used for your next application. You can update this information before submitting, if needed.

  2. In your CV, include your educational background and work experience, and explain why you are an ideal match for the position you’re applying for.
You may also submit a cover letter along with your CV. Always ensure your documents are written in the same language as the job description.
  3. After submitting your application, you will receive an automated email confirmation. You can also log in to your candidate profile and check which jobs you have applied for.

If your experience aligns with the role, you’ll be invited to a personal interview. In some cases, we may begin with a short video interview or digital assessment before conducting interviews. Multiple roles at Fortum require background checks.

When several candidates have experience that matches the position requirements, we’ll move forward with those whose profiles align most closely with the overall needs of the role. We do not use AI in the screening. Every application is thoroughly reviewed by both the hiring manager and/or the recruiter to ensure a fair and personalized evaluation.

While we’re not able to provide individual feedback to every applicant, due to the volume of applications we receive for most of our positions, we’ll notify you by email if we decide not to move forward in the recruitment process.

You can also choose to be considered for other roles — in that case, we’ll keep your profile in mind and may reach out if a better match comes up.

Most of our recruitments include two interview rounds but this depends on the role and seniority. We also utilize our digital assessment in most processes. If you are invited to an interview, it means we see you as a potential match for the position.

The interview includes a brief introduction to Fortum, along with detailed insights into the role, team, and function you’re being considered for. It’s also a chance for us to get to know each other, so be prepared to talk about your professional experience and competencies for the role you are applying for, and make sure to ask any questions you may have.

The interview will most likely be conducted by the hiring manager and the recruiter, and will focus on how your skills and experience align with the position. We aim to keep the conversation transparent and comfortable.

Depending on the recruitment process, you may also be invited to take part in our digital assessment by Assessio. This assessment includes a personality questionnaire and a logical reasoning test. These can be done either via mobile or desktop and will take around 35-40 minutes to complete. The assessment gives us additional insight into your working style and strengths to support a well-rounded evaluation

Once a hiring decision has been made, all remaining candidates will be notified.

Once you’ve been offered a job, the onboarding process begins. We aim to give you the best possible start to your journey with us and make you feel welcome from day one.

Your new manager will create a personalized onboarding plan to ensure everything is ready when you join. You’ll receive an employee handbook to help you get started with the onboarding experience. The handbook is introducing our company and values, but also those important and nice to know details that make you part of our community.

On your first day — and throughout your first few months — you will get to know your role, colleagues and more. In You’ll also be assigned a buddy to support you during the early stages of your employment.

Some of our biggest offices have a special onboarding events for new joiners where you will also have a chance to meet other new colleagues.

At the end of your application journey with us, you’ll receive a short feedback survey. Your insights help us build a better candidate experience.
