Ämmä hydropower plant

The Ämmä hydropower plant, completed in 1959, is located along the Emäjoki river in Suomussalmi. The output of the plant is 16 MW and the head is 10-13 meters. One Kaplan turbine. Average annual production covers the annual electricity use of about 2,000 households with electric heat.
