The “Kabin 1274” restaurant will serve a custom menu cooked by Magnus Nilsson, head chef of Fäviken Magasinet. Food is cooked with locally sourced ingredients, and served atop of Åreskutan mountain in the gondola lift, climbing all the way to 1274 metres.

Fortum

Clean energy company Fortum wants to engage its customers and the society to join the change for a cleaner world. Fortum is a long-term partner for Åre and already powers the three main ski lifts with fossil free solar power and has 40 Charge & Drive charging points around Åre area. Kabin 1274 is for celebrating those who’ve already committed to a cleaner future and chosen sustainable ways to live their lives. Fortum is celebrating change, not in the climate but in the way the world is powered.

Magnus Nilsson

Magnus Nilsson is the head chef at the restaurant Fäviken Magasinet, 25 km east of Åre. Fäviken has been ranked as the second best restaurant in Europe and with two Michelin stars Nilsson is considered to be one of the best chefs globally. Nilsson is a master in Nordic cuisine and traditions, and almost all of the ingredients used in the dishes Fäviken serves, are hyperlocal. Sourcing ingredients from the Nordic soil is not an easy task which is also what makes Nilsson’s food special.
