Fortum divests its share in Karlskoga Energi & Miljö to the Karlskoga
municipality
Fortum has today signed an agreement according to which Fortum sells its 49%
shareholding in Karlskoga Energi & Miljö to the Karlskoga municipality in Sweden
for SEK 435 million (approximately EUR 42 million).
Karlskoga Energi & Miljö operates in electricity distribution, combined heat and
power production, water supply and sewerage, waste management as well as
broadband services. The divestment is in line with Fortum's strategy to
concentrate on core business.
Karlskoga Energi & Miljö's annual revenues are approximately SEK 425 million
(approximately EUR 41.5 million) and it employs 150 people. Fortum has been a
shareholder in the company since 1998.
