Automatic shutdown at Fortum's Loviisa nuclear power plant unit 1 Fortum's Loviisa nuclear power plant's unit 1 is currently out of production due to an automatic shutdown this morning 12 July 2010 at 10.34 local time. The automatic shutdown was caused by a malfunction in the unit's secondary circuit's automation. The cause of the malfunction is being investigated. The incident does not cause any threat to people, the power plant or the environment. Loviisa power plant's unit 2 is in normal production.
