Fortum and Russian Energy Agency strengthen cooperation to improve energy

Fortum Corporation and the Federal State Organization Russian Energy Agency have
today signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of energy efficiency and
innovations. According to the agreement, the parties will endeavor to strengthen
their cooperation in preparing and fulfilling joint projects in the areas of    
combined power and heat generation, environmental development and promoting     
energy efficient technologies.                                                  
                                                                                
"Our partnership with the Russian Energy Agency allows Fortum to be even more   
successful in Russia in our projects in the area of energy efficiency and       
sustainable development, key building blocks in our strategy,” says Anne        
Brunila, Executive Vice President, Corporate Relations and Sustainability,      
Fortum. “It is of utmost importance for us to cooperate with the Government of  
the Russian Federation and the REA in this significant area," she concludes.
