Fortum's first greenfield solar photovoltaic (PV) plant was inaugurated in Madhya Pradesh, India, on January 20, 2015.

Solar energy is one of the most interesting solutions for sustainable and CO2-free energy production. We investigate actively opportunities to build a platform for future growth with solar technology offering. The new solar plant is Fortum's second solar energy project in the country.

The solar power plant consists of 125 000 solar panels on an area of 28 acres. The 10 MW (AC) solar plant will offset more than 18,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually.
