Fortum's Loviisa NPP shuts down Unit 2 for replacement of control rod machinery

​Fortum shuts down Loviisa nuclear power plant's Unit 2 due to one faulty control rod motor on Friday 6 November 2015, starting at 9 a.m. The malfunction in one of the control rods was detected late on Thursday 5 November, and investigations continued overnight.

The shutdown is estimated to last three days. During repairs, Loviisa 1 will be in normal production.

The incident did not endanger people, the environment or the power plant.
