Unit 2 of Fortum’s Loviisa nuclear power plant is back in production after a repair shutdown of three days. An electrical malfunction of a control rod motor was the reason for the repair shutdown, which started on Friday 6 November at 9 am.
During the shutdown also other control rod motors were inspected and three additional motors replaced as a precaution. During the repair shutdown also other minor maintenance work and further inspections were carried out.
The unit was reconnected to the grid on Monday 9 November at approximately 6 p.m.
The incident did not endanger people, the environment or the power plant.
