Unit 2 of Fortum’s Loviisa nuclear power plant returns to full production

​Unit 2 of Fortum’s Loviisa nuclear power plant returns to full production after a production limitation period of four hours. A disturbance in the turbine controller caused the turbine trip, which started on Tuesday 16, August at 10.30 am EEST.

The second turbine of the unit was reconnected to the grid after a successful test run on Tuesday 16, August at approximately 3.30 p.m. EEST. The incident did not endanger people, the environment or the power plant.

Unit 1 is in annual outage. Planned start date is 8 September, 2016. Planned start for the annual outage at Unit 2 is on 17 September, 2016.
