Investigations concerning the documentations of components supplied to Fortum’s Loviisa power plant progresses

10 April 2017, 11:00 EEST

In spring 2016 French company Areva notified the industry of detecting possible neglects and counterfeits of inspection documentations of equipment delivered to nuclear power plants in France and possibly to other countries. The Finnish Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority STUK required in June 2016 that the Finnish nuclear power companies investigate whether equipment of whose material quality one cannot be fully certain has been delivered to their nuclear power plants.

In Fortum’s investigation, one equipment delivery has been identified, which may have a link to the parties in scope of the investigation. Measures to confirm the quality of the delivery will be completed by the end of May.
