Fortum Recycling & Waste Public affair priorities published

Policy objectives should aim to ensure a clean circular economy model and a stronger market for high-quality recycled raw materials.

Nature

Fortum Recycling & Waste leads the change towards a low-emission energy system and the optimal use of resources. We support our customers' business by conserving natural resources and promoting a circular economy.

Reliable waste management and resource efficiency are fundamental in a society based on a circular economy. Ultimately, Fortum’s aim is for as much of the waste stream as possible to be recycled, recovered or reused. At the same time, hazardous substances are removed from circulation. Waste that is unsuitable for recycling or reuse is converted into energy.

Fortum Recycling & Waste published its public affair priorities in May 2021. The priorities include our views on national and EU waste policy, and in particular on the regulation of waste recovery, plastics, batteries, metals and their by-products. Fortum Recycling & Waste believes that the policy objectives should aim to ensure a clean circular economy model and stronger market for high quality recycled raw materials.
