Which role can Nordic energy play in a world of uncertainty?
About the event
The Nordic region is facing unprecedent challenges. In a world of increased uncertainty, and where energy is transitioning from an expected commodity to critical infrastructure now under threat, new forms of collaboration is needed.
Europe is facing one of its biggest transformations in our time. Squeezed between old rivalry superpowers, a war, geopolitical tension and increased protectionism, while trying to navigate a full-scale energy transition, away from fossil fuels.
We want to discuss how we as a Nordic region — together — can capitalize on our strengths and capabilities, to become the epicenter of European electrification. A feature absolutely critical to ensure our competitiveness, to secure jobs, while creating new ones for the future.
Furthermore, in times of increased geopolitical uncertainties, where energy and its infrastructure is threatened, improved Nordic collaboration could prove essential for our own security and sovereignty.
In the Nordics, we are in fact perfectly positioned to spearhead the inevitable transition from fossil fuels to CO2-free energy. But each country cannot — and should not — do it alone. How can the Nordics collaborate even better to ensure the most beneficial outcome for our region?
