Three Critical Success Factors for EV Charging Services

Bouygues Energies & Services, the market-leading charge point operator in France, provides turn-key EV charging services to public and private organizations across France. To operate and manage its EV charging services, Bouygues Energies & Services has selected a cloud-based software as a service (SaaS) solution offered by Fortum Charge & Drive.

Fortum Charge & Drive’s SaaS solution is a robust and scalable platform used to support Fortum Charge & Drive’s own EV charging services, as well as the businesses of 35 charge point operators across Europe and India. Fortum’s cloud solution is GDPR compliant by design and provides charge point operators with a reliable platform to manage their charging infrastructure whilst also providing end-users with intuitive service.

Bouygues Energies & Services currently operates over 5,000 chargers in France and aims to expand the network to over 10,000 chargers in 2021 in order to meet the growing demand from EV drivers. Fortum Charge & Drive is a leading EV charging service provider operating the largest public charging network in the Nordic market and offering smart charging services to support Nordic EV drivers when charging at home, at work or on the road.

Christophe Mayen, Head of Transportation Division for Bouygues Energies & Services said, “In this emerging market of electric charging, the user experience and the quality of charging services are essential. As a leader in this market, we are looking for the best European partners, with the shared objective of offering our customers efficient, scalable and secure solutions”.

Michael Warner, Fortum Charge & Drive SaaS Business Manager said, “We are delighted to be entering a partnership with the forerunner in e-mobility in France and we are looking forward to providing the digital platform to enable Bouygues Energies & Services’ operations to grow from strength to strength. Their reputation for reliability and good service in the French market has been the key to their growth and we look forward to collaborating on many development projects that will support the overall EV ecosystem”.

“Our two companies share the vision of driving the change towards a cleaner world, and the partnership will further strengthen our ability to make it easy for consumers and businesses to go electric and reduce CO2 emissions,” says Fortum’s Arun Aggarwal, Senior Vice President, Business Technology.
