Fundamentals for Fortum sustainability

Certain sustainability topics are fundamental in building a basis for sustainable operations. For Fortum, human rights, supply chain sustainability, and business ethics and compliance are such topics. Having processes in place to ensure all operations are run according to policies, guidelines, and agreed procedures is important, but the key is to empower people and build a culture where doing the right thing comes naturally. Failing in these topics or not meeting regulatory requirements or stakeholder expectations is not an option and requires continuous diligence and improvement to maintain our commitment to sustainability.

Fortum follows and respects internationally recognised human rights that are included in key human rights treaties. Fortum has a due diligence process in place to identify, mitigate, remediate and monitor our actual and potential human rights impacts on our personnel, those working in the supply chains and on local communities.
