Community involvement
Companies can play a meaningful role in society by engaging with and contributing to the communities in which they operate. Through active dialogue and attention to societal needs, they can foster mutual understanding and trust. At Fortum, we place a high value on transparent collaboration with our stakeholders. We recognize that while our operations and investments bring benefits to communities, they may also have adverse impacts. Active dialogue helps us understand and manage these impacts, promoting acceptance and our license to operate. Additionally, through our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programme, we aim to give back to the society in impactful ways.
Our operations and investments benefit local communities
We employ and generate income in the countries and local communities we operate in and boost economic activity by working together with our wide contractor and partner networks.
We also contribute to generating income to the societies through land lease and municipal taxation. Our wind power plant community funds benefit the local communities. Communities allocate these funds to various projects and initiatives, further supporting local development and wellbeing.
