How does a spot-priced electricity contract work?

In a spot-priced electricity contract, every hour of the day is tendered in the energy market. As such, the price is inevitably the best price on the market at that moment. You pay for the electricity according to each hour’s market price. The price of electricity on the market is determined by the production and demand of electricity and can be monitored hourly.

All types of businesses, regardless of industry or size, can benefit from hourly electricity pricing and precise consumption monitoring. A spot-priced electricity contract is particularly well-suited for businesses that want to optimize their electricity usage and maintain full control over their electricity costs. Yritys Tunti is available as a 24-month fixed-term contract or an open-ended contract. The 24-month contract includes the option to switch to another of Fortum’s fixed-term business products (Yritys Varma or Yritys Duo) during the contract period. If you choose to switch, the contract period will restart.

Spot-priced electricity is based on the electricity exchange’s competitive hourly price, which fluctuates according to supply and demand. Electricity prices change rapidly, and these changes are reflected directly in the spot price. By planning the timing of your electricity consumption, you can take full advantage of price fluctuations throughout the day and week.

The price of Yritys Tunti Jatkuva contract is as follows:

• Electricity price: Electricity exchange spot price per hour + commission 0,68 c/kWh

• Basic fee 7.90 €/month

• The contract initiation fee 5 €/contract

• Prices VAT 0%

The price of Yritys Tunti contract is as follows:

• The electricity price: The hourly purchase price of exchange electricity + commission 0.40 c/kWh

• The basic fee 5.40 €/month

• Prices VAT 0%
