In 2021 the Smoke-Free Power Plant project started at the Loviisa power plant with the aim to encourage those working at the Loviisa power plant towards a smoke-free environment.
At the Loviisa power plant, the last remaining smoking areas have been removed from inside of the gates on the island area. Smoking and the use of other tobacco products, such as e-cigarettes, are only permitted at the official smoking area outside the gates, opposite to the reception office. Quitting the use of snus is also encouraged. Common rules must be followed by everyone working at the Loviisa power plant.
Smoking is the main preventable health risk that damages the working capacity of working-age people. A smoke-free workplace benefits everyone and we are constantly striving to improve the well-being and health of those working at the Loviisa power plant. From the point of view of work and fire safety, a clean and smoke-free plant environment is absolutely essential.
It is important to take into account the plant’s existing guidelines on snus and chewing gum not allowed in the plant’s controlled area. Please note that certain nicotine sprays contain alcohol, and therefore are not allowed at the power plant. Check the product’s informative label.
